Church leaders gesturing hypnotically

“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”        Philippians 3:2-3

The comparison between physical circumcision and circumcision of the heart is a parallel comparison between the visible, local churches and the spiritual church of Christ. Just as some of the early Jewish Christians taught the necessity of physical circumcision (as well as other ceremonial rites) as being necessary in order to be saved, so present day churches and fellowships teach others that certain doctrines must be believed in, applied and tested in the way their leaders preach in order to be saved.

“Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.”   1 Timothy 1:5-7

Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of the flesh in a man engages in a marry-go-round of unconscious agendas that are consistent with a corrupt and distorted vision of the truth. When God makes Himself known to the heart of a man, that man’s focus constantly returns to the guidance of the Holy Spirit that has been placed in a man at moment of God’s salvation of him.

“Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.” 2 Timothy 2:14

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:17

“Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.”   Jeremiah 7:8

Truth, I’ve found, more and more is not contained in the technical correctness of an expressed doctrine. The truth, for a believer, must be found in the sharing of what God gives them in their prayerful study of His Word and in Gods showing that believer the substance of that word in the believer's experiences in the world. The believers service to God is controlled by God, Himself. God uses a believer’s share to either edify or to condemn the hearer. When God uses a believers share to condemn the hearer, He (God) gives that hearer’s flesh over to the possession of men (teachers, pastors, priests, or leaders). When God uses a believer’s share to edify the hearer, He (God), uses the share to draw that man or woman to Himself.

The one who shares cannot know what God is using his share for.   Seeking God in His Word and mutual sharing of His gifts unique to each hearer seem to be the manner that most directs me back to God.

Beware of vain jangling.......
