Gods movement in a believers heart;

“The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: …,”

Gods knowledge is given by the Holy Spirit, it is not figured out by the carnal logic of man.

“…he wakeneth morning by morning,…”

Because even believers live in an unresurrected body, they need to be repeatedly awakened day by day by God’s word through conviction in their sin and progressive revelation of God’s Word. Though God‘s word is never changing, the knowledge or understanding of God‘s word in the “mind” (heart) of a believer progressively changes as that believer grows out of the vanity of his carnal mind  and is drawn closer and closer to God through the working of the indwelling spirit and mind of Christ (the Holy Spirit).

This is why constant conviction in sin, constant exposure to God‘s word and constant revelation by God of his knowledge to his children is both necessary and desired by God’s elect.

“….he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned….”

When it comes to the gospel, born-again believers are the learned, not scholars pastors preachers or teachers. Believers, in their sharing of the Gospel of salvation in Christ, do not work to convince their audience of the truth of what they are sharing. Instead, it is the Holy Spirit that uses the sharing of believers to communicate the spiritual truth of the Gospel to the individual “hearers” according to the specific personal, private relationship between that “hearer” and God. The one sharing does not take credit for what part of the Gospel is actually learned by the hearer. Believers share with each other as part of their praise and Glorification  of God.

“….The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.”       Isaiah 50:4-5

 Without God I am rebellious by nature. If I am not rebellious it is because I have become born again in God’s action of salvation through Christ. Only God knows if I am not rebellious for the visible world is deceptive to the carnal mind.

 “…..Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves…..”

Love of Gods creation; our body is not our own but is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is designed to grow in the love of God. It is “other” than us and so just like God gave Himself for us in Christ, so we give ourselves to the care of the body God has given us (physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual) to grow in and serve Him; and so following, to give the substance God has given to us for others because they are Gods creation in the same way we are.

“….Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others…..”

For a man to look not on his own things he must place his personal relationship with God above all other relationships. This enables him to serve others in truth.

“…Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:…….” Galatians 4:19

Jesus Christ could only not think it robbery to be equal with God because he was fully God. Born again believers, also being in the form of God, spiritually, manifest the power of God in their witness without assigning that power to themselves. Giving all the credit to God enables the believer to not deny God’s power.

“Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”     2 Timothy 3:5

Gods work of salvation in the heart of a believer;

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,”

“….But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”   Philippians 2:3-8

So does God…..

………by His own will

         …….and not the will of man……

….give desire in the heart of believers to do the same; make themselves of no reputation and take upon themselves the form of a servant.

“Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”          John 1:13
