Jews; a  people chosen to produce the seed of David; salvation in Christ alone

The nation of Israel, which was a theocracy ended up corrupting the God’s Word that He set up originally to serve and obey Him. God, throughout the Old Testament, shows “His people” as well as those born again believers who read the Bible, that man cannot obey his commandments and furthermore, cannot avoid repeatedly turning away from God to the ways of the world.

The local Christian churches during the church age (AD 33 – AD 1988) were and are a spiritual mirror image of the nation of Israel. As the “tares” (unbelievers) entered the churches throughout the church age they brought in the “damnable heresies” of the world, making the local churches more and more friendly with the world.

The Jewish nation of Israel was chosen, not as a culture that would be saved but were chosen to provide the seed which was to be Jesus Christ, though David.

“Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart......”

The lies that both the prophets of the OT and the pasters, teachers and preachers of the NT era taught was/is that God loves you and you will not bear the consequences for your sins.

“.....Therefore, thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed......”

The prophets old taught the fables of men  in declaring “peace and safety” denying the existence of God’s Judgment. In the OT the sword and famine were literal. In the NT era, the sword is God’s Judgment that comes by the Word of God and the famine is the famine of the Word of God, which kills.

 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters:.....”

Another progressive sin of the OT prophets and the NT churches was their dependence on men and communities for validation of their false teachings. The spiritual reality of God’s salvation plan is that there is only one essential relationship related to salvation and that is each individual’s personal relationship with God. So the false prophets and teachers, with that true spiritual relationship will be left dead without God or men to save them.

“......for I will pour their wickedness upon them. Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow. If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.” Jeremiah 33:14-18

The land that the prophet and the priest know not is the kingdom of God, which they have pretended to represent but falsely.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David,.....”

All references to the throne of David that will last forever and forever are a reference to not the man, David, but to his seed (by many generations), the Son of God, Jesus Christ. This relationship; David and Jesus, is also a reflection the movement of God’s salvation plan transitioning from the material/carnal/physical world to the spiritual world.

“........and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.’’  Isaiah 9:6,7

All the turmoil, struggles, sufferings of this world from the beginning were part of God’s salvation plan for those whom Jesus Christ was born to save. God becoming a man was a picture of God sharing all this suffering with humanity for the purpose of saving his anointed. God’s choice in who He predestined to save, we are told in the Bible, were based on God’s pleasure, with a criterion that only God can know. To a person whom God has not made Himself known to, this criterion is totally unacceptable. It is the unbelieving mind that is committed to the delusion that man charts his own destiny.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance......”

“Hell” is eternal separation from God. The fires (God’s spiritual  Judgment) and hell (spiritual death) are the wages of sin, (death) which is essentially unbelief. One of the false gospels taught throughout the church age, was that “hell” was a place of eternal torture in flames for the unsaved. It turned out that the “tares”(pretended believers) were simply projecting their own unconscious doubts  of their salvation on to those they were “evangelizing”.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.....”

For the pretended believers who still occupy the local churches and denominations, and who are preaching peace and the formulistic claim that “God loves you”, the end of the world will come as in Noah’s day when all the world did not anticipate the flood. This time, however, the Bible tells us that it will be in flames, a literal destruction.

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape......”

Born again believers, though they might not know the exact last day, none the less, look for the end, making the Lord, for them, not come as a thief;

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”                                       1 Thessalonians 5: 1-6

Hell, to born again believers, is this life. Though God created the world perfectly, the progression of the development of sinful man, a man born spiritually dead, has created, for the most part, a hell on earth. There are many parts of the world that represent the beauty and love of God but because of the progressive development of an unbelieving people the spiritual reality of life without God has become more and more apparent. When a man or woman is born again, they are given a taste of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Christ, the Spirit of the Father. The contrast between what God has shown the believer about Himself and what that believer witnesses both in his sinful body and in the progressive sinfulness of the world, easily reveals to him hell on earth. Because of a believer’s perception of this world in this light, looking (hasting) for the consummation of the wedding between each believer and Christ is understandable, but not to those who are not on that pathway.

“.......Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”                         2 Peter 3: 9-14

The 2 Peter passage brings the reader to the point that the only salvation from the end to come resides in those seeking the spirit of Christ, in His Word, the Bible, for those who have become born again.

“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”   Luke 1: 30 –33

So Jesus Christ is referred to as both the Son of David and the Son of God. God made man. Salvation came through the people chosen for that purpose; those circumcised in the flesh; the Jews. This is what the term “salvation is of the Jews” means.

First God promised to put to the sword (God’s use of the Word of God to judge) the false prophets of both Jerusalem in the OT and the NT local churches. Then God describes the judgment to come upon those Israelites who did not obey God’s call to come out of Jerusalem to be captive to Nebuchadnezzar and those who remained in the local churches after God’s call for them to come out from them and scattered into the modern day Babylon which is the unbelieving world”

“And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters.....;

Their dependence on their families and communities of men will not care for them in God’s judgment.

“And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die. But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.”   Jeremiah 22:26,27

Just like Lot’s wife who turned into a pillar of salt upon looking back to Sodom when God, in the form of angels, dragged them out of that destruction, so those who look back to the world friendly local churches spiritually become like Lot’s wife.

Whereas believers, spiritually invisible to the local churches and the unbelieving world (both united in this day of judgment as spiritual Babylon) seek God where they have been scatted in all the earth;

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.  Hebrews 11: 13-16
